G1

The original solid state Pearce guitar amp, introduced in 1982.  Came in three configurations, the G1a combo, the G1b powered rack-mount head, and the G1c rack-mount pre-amp.  The (mono) powered units make 110W RMS into 4Ω, 70W @ 8Ω.  Separate mono effects loops on each channel, one mono master effects loop post-limiter.

An upgrade is offered, the “1.7 Mod”, which increases gain on Ch. 1 in boost mode, increases clean headroom on Ch. 2 and alters the EQ on both channels in various ways.  Units with the 1.7 Mod have a “1.7” stamped on the back of the chassis (see details in the G1 Image Gallery).

I’ve heard of a 1.5 mod, which was supposed to be at the request of Allan Holdsworth (an early endorser), adding more gain and low end to the red (lead) channel.
